Biography
Steven Nowak is an associate attorney at Collins Law Firm, LLC primarily practicing estate planning. When meeting new clients, he first identifies their planning goals, then discusses options for their unique situation. His greatest professional satisfaction comes from helping clients achieve peace of mind by creating an estate plan that best suits their needs.
Steven advises clients to stay involved in their estate plan and review it after major life changes. Events like buying a home, having a child, divorce, or losing a loved one should prompt a review to ensure their financial legacy remains secure.
Steven attended the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, including a study abroad experience at the National University of Ireland-Galway (NUIG), and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in History and a minor in Criminal Justice. He later worked at a Milwaukee law firm specializing in personal injury and civil rights, where he assisted with daily legal tasks and discovered the fulfillment that comes from helping clients. After four years as a legal assistant, Steven attended the University of St. Thomas School of Law in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
His law school experience included clerking at a Minneapolis personal injury and worker’s compensation firm as well as interning at both a software company and the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency; Steven was also a member of the St. Thomas Law Journal and served on the journal board as symposium editor his 3L year. Upon graduating from the University of St. Thomas, Steven began his career at a private personal injury and insurance defense firm in Brookfield. He joined Collins Law Firm, LLC in April 2024.
Steven is a member of the State Bar of Wisconsin, including the Real Property, Probate & Trust Law Section and Young Lawyers Division, as well as the Milwaukee Bar Association. He is an active member of the Corporate Casual professional networking group.
